Correctional Officer Trainee

Required Qualifications

Standard High School Graduate or GED Certificate

Annual Salary: $27,552 - $41,873


Correctional Officer

Required Qualifications

Permanent Status as a Correctional Officer Trainee

Annual Salary: $28,942 - $43,963


Correctional Sergeant

Required Qualifications

One year of experience after obtaining permanent status as a Correctional Officer

Annual Salary: $30,422 - $46,142


Correctional Lieutenant

Required Qualifications

A total of three years of experience at the level of Correctional Officer or higher

To include one year's experience and permanent status as a Correctional Sergeant or Classification Specialist
(Individuals in the Classification Specialist class must have at least one year of experience as a Correctional Officer or higher)

Annual Salary: $34,387 - $52,169


Correctional Captain

Required Qualifications

A total of three years experience at the level of Correctional Officer or higher

To include one year's experience and permanent status as a Correctional Lieutenant or Classification Specialist Supervisor
(Individuals in the Classification Supervisor class must have at least one year of experience as a Correctional Sergeant or higher)

Annual Salary: $37,961 - $57,504

Semi-Monthly Salary $1148.00

** New Employees with an Associate Degree or equivalent hours: $1205.90

State law allows those active in the Employee Retirement System (ERS) to purchase service credit for certain types of past employment. Purchasing service credit may increase the amount of your retirement income or allow you to retire sooner. During an active member's first years of participation in the ERS, he or she may purchase up to four years of eligible military service provided the member has had no previous period of eligibility.
